Low anterior resection (any anastomosis below 8 cm from the anal verge with radiation or below 5 cm without radiation)

Diverting loop ileostomy

Total colectomy without ileorectal anastomosis

End ileostomy

Proctocolectomy without ileal pouch-anal anastomosis (“J-pouch”)

End ileostomy

Proctocolectomy with J-pouch

Diverting loop ileostomy

Completion proctectomy with J-pouch (if prior total colectomy)
